Inside the work

State as material

In the artistic Neuromandala, a biosignal becomes changing form. The interface translates between measurement, visual composition and perception. A participant observes what unfolds and influences its further development; personal meaning is not automatically extracted from the signal.

The work exists as a process

The screen composition develops over time. Participation can be individual or shared, with each action shaping how the image unfolds. Different artistic versions retain their own titles and contexts. Recording and visualisation are described on the method page.

Artwork and method

Neuromandala is both an artwork in its own right and a method used to create other works. This page explores the artistic experience of participation; the method page explains the system. MindShow, stage performances, Neurosynchronization and object lines each develop this language in their own way.
